New Testing for Traffic Accident Reconstruction
Anaist Group enthusiastically took part in “ACI tra presente, passato e futuro” event organized by the Automobile Club Benevento 30th and 31st of May 2015. Through this experimentation activity, we have developed a solution for the reconstruction of road accidents. The focus of the event was on road safety. The Direzione del Compartimento della Polizia Stradale for Campania and Molise was invited to participate on issues related to car accidents and road safety. Simulations of accidents with vehicles and actors who recreated typical dynamics of an accident played a crucial role: the impact, the timely intervention of the police and rescue teams and the reconstruction of the incident. Alongside the traditional techniques and proven methods of relief an experimental testing was authorized with the most advanced techniques including the most innovative DRONE with integrated camera: with these new technologies the whole accident area can be filmed and all measurements can be taken within very few minutes.
With the new technologies a series of very positive factors have emerged, including:
- acquisition of an enormous amount of data in a very short time;
- timing of operations;
- drastic reduction of risk for the safety of the officers and of the motorists involved;
- the immediate reopening of roads;
- acquisition and documentation of thecontextual video as well as the 2D and 3D plans.
